Me + Barre = Ouchies

After feeling so tired and sore during the 1st trimester, I decided it was time to kick my butt into gear.  I couldn't easily find a prenatal yoga class that worked for working women... but soon I found a weekend prenatal barre class.

With no idea of what barre truly was, I signed up.  And I showed up... but my muscles didn't.  Silly muscles... I must of left them back in 2012.

It was HARD!  I knew I'd struggle, but my mind thought that the minute you put prenatal in front of a work out, it became quite low impact.  I was wrong... DEAD wrong.

We used weights, we squatted, we did planks, we did lunges, and we did a bunch of other weird shit I never even heard of.  My limbs shook with the effort.  I had sweat in my brow.  My heart raced... and at times, I thought... crap, was this all one big mistake?

But then it was over... really quickly.  That hour flew by.  And despite being sore, I felt good, and hungry and tired.  I went to bed shortly after stuffing my face and showering.  But the next day... I had a tad more energy and I thought... shit, it's time to do something else because Barre once a week is NOT going to cut it.

Stay tuned for the next adventure in Lilia gets healthy!
